Sylvi Rennert
Sylvi Rennert is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Translation Studies of the University of Vienna and has over 20 years of experience as a translator and conference, public service and diplomatic interpreter for German, English, Finnish and Spanish. She wrote her PhD thesis at the University of Vienna on the impact of fluency on interpreting quality (published in 2019 by Narr Francke Attempto), which she researched in the FWF project QuaSI (Quality in Simultaneous Interpreting). She was a postdoctoral researcher and project coordinator for the DG Justice project TransLaw (2018-2019), where she helped develop and implement Transcultural Law Clinics. Her publications include two co-authored textbooks, as well as a number of papers in journals and edited volumes in the field of Interpreting Studies. Her main research interests are interpreting didactics and interprofessional cooperation with fields that use interpreting services to improve interpreting quality, particularly in dialogic settings.
